✅👨‍🏫 ExamSimulator: Viewing exam data of full exams (teachers)

In this article, we look at how teachers can view the percentages achieved in each of the exams that have been set and marked.

Why is this useful?

For teachers, it is crucial to be able to identify areas for improvement in students' knowledge, either for an individual student, or for spotting patterns and potential 'gaps' in knowledge across a group.

What comes before?

For teachers to view this, they must be a Teacher, HoD or Admin on the site. A group you teach must have been set an exam assignment and this exam must have been marked and released back to the student. See here for how to set an exam, how to mark an online exam or how to mark a printable exam

1. Click on 'Dashboard' at the top of the page.

2. Select 'Assignments' in the left-hand panel.

3. Enter your group details in the filter bar at the top:

  • Subject
  • Qualification
  • Group
  • Course
  • You can also filter by 'Assignment type' and 'Take Exam' to show only exam data.

4. Scroll along to view students' exam data across all of the exam papers that have been set. Data highlighted in red indicates scores below 30%, yellow indicates scores between 31 and 69.9%, and green indicates scores at 70% and above.

5. Remember, this data can be filtered down to individual students by selecting them in the 'Select students' drop-down bar at the top.

This view shows the percentages achieved by students for each of the exams that have been set and marked. From this view, it is possible to view each of the exams. To do so:

i) Click on 'Performance' (printable exams) or 'Performance/Exam' (online exams) below the percentage score.

This page will display the percentage and marks for a student's exam, as well as any teacher comments that have been added.
ii) Scroll down to view the exam statistics for the knowledge and skill areas:

iv) Select the different questions from the panel on the left-hand side to view the question-level analysis for each question. You can also select 'student' in the panel on the right to view the exam questions for other students in the group.

The question-level analysis will display the question (click 'show full question' or 'hide full question'), the student's response, and parts of the response highlighted that correspond to the marking points in the right-hand panel.

v) To return to the statistics page, select 'See Statistics' on the left-hand side of the page.

vi) You also have the option to print a student's exam using the print button, as shown above. This will print the full exam paper with the questions, student responses and annotated marks given, as well as any teacher comments.
