# 👩‍🎓 Restoring archived groups

## In this article we learn how to restore previously archived groups on The EverLearner.

**Why do we need to do this?**  
Restoring groups allows you to restore a group to your active groups list.  
This is usually done if you had archived a group by mistake. 

**Who can do this?**

- Admin
- HoD

**What comes before?**

- A group has previously been [archived](https://help.theeverlearner.com/knowledge/archiving-groups).

**Restoring an archived group:**

1. Access the group editor by going to 'Admin > Groups' and clicking on the pencil icon to the right of **any active group**'s name.
2. Find the list of archived groups on the left-hand side of the page.
3. Click on the 'eye' symbol to the right of the name of the group you want to restore.
4. When the group details open, click 'Restore group' in the top-right corner.
5. A box will appear asking 'Are you sure you want to restore this group?', click the red 'Yes, proceed' button.
6. The group will now appear in your list of active groups.
